MEXICO: A SEASONAL HOME FOR HUMPBACK WHALES
The Pacific coast of Mexico is one of the world’s great marine migration routes. Each winter, the warm waters of Banderas Bay and the surrounding coastline become a refuge for humpback whales arriving from distant northern feeding grounds.
Every winter, thousands of humpback whales migrate to the warm waters of Banderas Bay to breed, give birth, and raise their calves before returning north. It is one of the most spectacular whale migrations on Earth.
For us, Mexico offers the opportunity to combine responsible whale watching with scientific research in a region of exceptional marine biodiversity.
While humpback whales are the stars of the winter season, these waters are also home to several dolphin species, including bottlenose, spinner, common, and pantropical spotted dolphins, making every trip a chance to discover the incredible diversity of the Pacific Ocean.
Every encounter at sea is an opportunity to learn, inspire, and contribute to marine conservation.

For us, every trip is an opportunity to contribute to science. By photographing the unique patterns on humpback whales’ flukes and recording their behaviour, we can help identify individuals and understand their movements over time.
